Wedding bells

Not for me, but for my good friends, Stephanie and Chip. This was the first wedding in my group of friends and we were all so excited to be a part of it. Stephanie and I have known each other since freshman year of college and I've been fortunate enough to have her in my life since then. I mentioned before that I had a wedding to attend just days before leaving for New Orleans and I have yet to write it up. It was a beautiful wedding and it was insanely emotional, especially for me. Stephanie and Chip were married on Sunday, August 19 at St. Rene in Chicago. It was a very small and intimate ceremony. And the fun reception at Chateau Bu Sche was an amazing end to my last week in Chicago with all of my friends.

It was a hectic weekend, starting from the night before when Stephanie, her sister-in-law, and I were finalizing last-minute details for the wedding. I don't think we slept til 1am, and Stephanie didn't get to bed til 2. And after about 4 hours she was already awake. So much for beauty sleep. We got our hair and makeup done pretty fast, and the bride's vintage hair was amazing! She opted for finger waves and looked every bit the glamorous Old Hollywood actress.

There were a ton of pictures taken. I actually did not know photographers spent this much time taking photos. Holy crap. We are still waiting on the professional photos for the wedding but between getting ready, finishing the ceremony, and heading to the reception, us bridesmaids found time to take a ton of photos. Spencer was such a good sport holding onto all the bridesmaids' phones and purses, taking pictures, and helping set up the reception area for the wedding. I swear, I got so lucky with this guy!

The reception was gorgeous. There was a cupcake and cake tower, which was flanked by vintage silver trays lined with miniature cupcakes. Don't believe me? Check out this picture from fellow bridesmaid, Katrina. I also have never been to a place that expected me to have several drinks all at once. At the bridal party table, each person had a wine glass, a water glass, a champagne glass already filled with champagne, and we were asked if we wanted a cocktail. And yet, no, I did not get drunk.

I think the best part of the wedding was the photo booth. Stephanie and Chip won a photo booth from Magnolia Photo Booth Co. for their wedding. This was so much fun! Who doesn't want a bag of props and vintage-style photos for their friends and family? We had too much of a good time with this, obviously... I think we've had an amazing time with this photo booth every single time it's been at a party. Should you want to see more wacky pictures from their wedding, go here.

The whole wedding was a success. It was crazy getting everything together but we all managed to pull it off. It was bittersweet for me. I was so sad to leave right when my two friends were about to start a new life together. At the end of the evening, it was hard to say goodbye, but I couldn't have asked for a more amazing night to spend with the people who mean the most to me. Congratulations again, to my good friends, Mr. & Mrs. Pasare. I wish you two a long life of happiness together!

xo,

k.
